About the artist

A few years ago, I found my escape from the world in painting. I've always loved art and thought painting was my calling. I then developed a passion for theoretical study and art history, and so I decided to delve deeper into it. However, I wanted to challenge myself, which is why I signed up to ArtLab, to see if that part of me—not the art historian, but the "artist"—is still alive within me, despite not having painted for four years.

tempera and acrylic on canvas · 2022 · 40×20

It's an experimental work compared to the others; I made it during a particularly strange time in my adolescence, coinciding with a family loss and related personal issues. It's a tempera on canvas, with the addition of white acrylic. For me, it represents that period, the problems I was experiencing, and it's therefore difficult to give it a more objective interpretation. You could say it represents not being understood, the silence that follows; and that silence is also followed by a great imagination, a great internal dialogue that seeks to fill the gap in communication with others. This is what this canvas represents for me, but I'm open to various interpretations ;)
