Artist statement

I've always loved details, noticing the little things, especially in people. As a highly empathetic person, I find feelings and emotions important, especially the most invisible ones: this is how my interest in addressing the sensitive topic of mental health was born. The technique I find most suited to me is oil paint because it allows me to add body and achieve a saturated color. When I need to "let go," however, I use watercolor or watercolor ink.

Luglio

Luglio

Oil on vegetable cardboard · 2025 · 50x70cm

"July" is part of a series called "Self-Portraits," created between 2024 and 2025. The series visually narrates the changes in emotional states during each month of the year 2024-2025. Great importance was given to facial expressions, while light and shadow become symbolic elements of a psychological reflex, where brightness is good and darkness is bad.

Gauze, alabaster plaster, watercolor, wax crayons · 2025 · 6x30 cm

"100-130 bpm" refers to 130 heartbeats per minute, which represents anxious tachycardia, an increase in heart rate caused by anxiety or emotional stress. It's a reaction of the autonomic nervous system to a state of alertness and fear. The cast represents a chest: the site where anxiety releases its pressure. The color red is present in the center, which, according to color psychology, again evokes danger.

Ciò che dietro si cela

Ciò che dietro si cela

Plexiglass, wood, permanent marker · 2026 · 20x28cm

“Who am I?” I ask myself. I’ve always been described as determined, as strong. Parents whose children said, “Take a leaf out of her book!” Rewarding, you might say. But, do you ever ask yourself, from what actions these consequences arise? The surface is easy to see, the depth less so. You have to dig, you have to go deeper. Are you capable of putting yourself in this position? I’m not determined. I am the daughter of a failed container.

Styrofoam, spray can, steel nails · 2026 · 55x25x30cm

Red activates the brain and alarms it; it is the color associated with danger. Anxiety is the response associated with the condition of fear and stress. The work describes anxiety through the metaphor of a nail that pricks the skin, causing pain and discomfort. Over three thousand nails have been applied.

Biography

2002 / Legnano, Milan (IT)

My artistic research is grounded in the sensitive topic of mental health. I've always had a weakness for the unconscious, for the mind and its most intrinsic aspects: this emerges in my works, which arise from the need to translate emotions, thoughts, and fragments of reality into images that speak an intimate and personal, yet relatable, visual language. The body is the medium through which the mind vents feelings and emotions, transforming them into symptoms; The face involuntarily expresses moods; Light and/or color become symbolic elements that reinforce the subject's psychological snapshot.
