Artist statement

I am an intuitive painter and trust my paintings will guide me. My work explores memory, identity, connection and nature.Through expressive brushstrokes, layered surfaces and recurring patterns, I create paintings inspired by nature, personal experience and my life between Australia and Italy. I create connections in my work, through circles and threads, between people, places and memories. I create paintings that invite the viewer to pause, feel and reflect.

Threads of Belonging

Threads of Belonging

Mixed-Media, Oil glaze, waxed thread · 2026 · 70 x 60 plus frame

Part of the series "THREADS" Threads of Belongingrefelectsthe special place cats hold within our families. More than companions, they become part of our daily lives, our memories, and our emotional world. The delicate threads connecting circular pieces from my past paintings suggest the invisible bonds of affection, trust and belonging that grow between us and the animals we love. The cat surrounded by layered colour and organic marks, becomes a symbol of that quiet but powerful connection.

Threads of Connection

MixedMedia acrylic oil Glaze · 2026 · 50 x 70 x 4

Threads of Connection is part of the "THREADS" collection. Threads of Connection explores the invisible bonds that link us to people, places , memories and experiences. The circular forms, connected by fine threads, suggest individual moments and relationships that remain part of a larger whole.Set against a layered abstract background, these connections appear to move across time and space, reflecting how our lives are shaped by what we encounter and by ties we continue to carry with us.

Thread of Nature

Thread of Nature

Mixed-media,acrylic · 2026 · 30 x 48 x 2

Threads of Nature part of the collection "Threads" Threads of nature is a pair of two small paintings inspired by the quiet connections found in the natural world. Leaves, organic forms and layered coloured paints surround delicate circles joined by waxed threads, suggesting the invisible relationships that connect all living things. Created as two individual works, each painting can stand on its own, while together they form a larger conversation: two separate pieces connected as one.

Threads of Faces 1

Threads of Faces 1

Mixed-media,acrylics · 2026 · 53 x38 x1

Threads of Faces 1 is part of the "THREADS" collection Threads of faces 1 explores the connection between the human spirit and the natural world. The female figure, surrounded by flowers and a bird, becomes part of a living environment rather than a separate entity. Circular fragments connected by delicate threads suggest memories, emotions and moments of experience, creating invisible links between the figure and the world around her. The work speaks of harmony, sensitivity and our instinctive connection with nature.

Threads of Face 2

Threads of Face 2

mixed-media, acrylic · 2026 · 53x38x1

Threads of Faces 2 is part of the collection THREADS Threads of faces 2 turns inwards, exploring the many experiences that shape our identity. The face emerges from an energetic field of colour, while while connected circular fragments move around and across the figure like pieces of memory. Each fragment suggests a different moment, emotion or part of ourselves, held together by invisible threads. The painting reflects how identity is never formed by single experience, but from everything we have lived, carried and connected along the way.

Threads of Transformation

Threads of Transformation

mixed-media, acrylic · 2026 · 40x40x1.5

Threads of Transformation is part of the THREADS collection Threads of tTransformation explores change, growth, and the delicate journey of becoming. The butterfly, symbol of transformation, emerges through expressive layers of colour and mark-making, while the connected circles suggest the experiences, memories, and relationships we carry with us as we evolve. The threads remind us that even as we change, we remain connected to what has shaped us. Transformation does not erase our past, iy becomes part of who we are becoming.

The Fight

The Fight

acrylic paint · 2026 · 70x50x2

This painting is about freedom and the extraordinary power of wings. I love painting birds, but what fascinates me most is their ability to rise above hearth, move freely through blue skies and see the world from another perspective. The open wings become a symbol pf possibility, independence and the courage to go beyond limits. Through vibrant colour and movement I wanted to capture the feeling of release; the sense of flight, exploration and the possibility of looking from above.

Season of Rest

Season of Rest

Paper,acrylic,markers · 2026 · 60x50

" Season of Rest" is a collection of five paintings, on paper, that explores the quiet beauty of the vines during winter, in their season of rest, stripped of foliage and fruit. The dark organic forms contrast with the soft, atmospheric background. Winter here is not an ending. It is a pause, before renewal. These paintings celebrate this suspended moment, when the vineyard is reduced to its essential elements: vine, wire, space and silence.Together they are like fragments of a landscape. Sometimes rest itself is part of becoming.

Biography

b. Australia based in Italy Treviso

I am a creative painter that for years has been an "Early Years" art teacher; I have learnt a lot from my "little ones". My painting process begins with freedom. I create an underpainting with all sorts of mixed media, inks and whatever, without a fixed idea, then I look for shapes, emotions and subjects that begin to emerge. This is what I have taught to my little students. Trust the painting to guide you. Respond to what you see. And they have taught be that there are no mistakes in art that it is ok to be different. My subjects come to me rather than I plan for them. Colour, texture and gesture suggests what the painting wants to become and I follow.
